Together with the traditional MBA building blocks, this MBA in Sport Business Management, offers additional modules with a particular focus on leadership and management roles in companies in the sport business industry nationally and internationally.

The programme is designed for those looking for an MBA and who are interested in the sports industry and who are aiming to enter managerial roles, as well as students from other sectors interested in the sports business sector.

The Wittenborg Master of Sport Business Management is an MBA degree primarily aimed at students with a non-business administration bachelor's degree, who have had 3 years of experience working in companies and organizations in a role that manages people or processes, or both. Candidates for the Wittenborg MBA will speak good English and have worked in an international environment.

The Wittenborg MBA degree programme is aimed at providing graduates with the skills and competencies to fulfill management positions in the field of business administration, both in the public and private sectors.

The Wittenborg MBA is delivered in a block format, with 2 modules being covered every 6 weeks. The classes are inter-disciplinary - you study shared modules in semester 1 with MBA students from different business specialisations. Due to the rolling entry (6 times a year) groups are dynamic, extremely international and diverse.

The modules are delivered intensively over consecutive days in the so-called 'block format', which means that each module has 6 days of teaching split into two blocks of 3 days. Teaching methods include group work, case studies, presentations, and live projects. The course is delivered through a variety of approaches including lectures, presentations, tutorials and case studies, with an emphasis on interactive learning. Each module is taught by two lecturers, often a full time Wittenborg lecturer and a guest lecturer from a partner university. Modules include regular guest speakers from industry.

Semester 1: Human Resource Management - Marketing Management - Management Accounting & Finance - Operations Management - International Management - Information Management

Semester 2: - Strategic Sport Business Management - Marketing and Sponsorship for Sports and Events - Ethical and Social Responsibility: Theory and Application - Globalization, Society and Culture: Sports in the Global Marketplace - Business Statistics - Strategic Management

All courses and examinations will be in English, so you need a good command of spoken and written English.

As an international applicant, you will also be required to demonstrate sufficient results of one of these tests:

IELTS 6.5 overall, 6.0 in writing or:

TOEFL test (minimum score of 80 internet-based, and minimum sub score of 290 for speaking & Writing)

Cambridge Lower (FCE) Grade B (173-175)

Cambridge Lower (FCE) Grade C (169-172)

A Bachelor degree, or equivalent recognized qualification. Applicants are requested to provide an academic reference from their previous education institute.

It is not necessary to have obtained a Bachelor degree from the domain of Business Administration, however in their degree students must have completed an academic piece of work (final project or dissertation) that shows a degree of academic writing and research experience.

2 years professional experience; applicants are requested to provide a reference from a company, or organization where they have worked.

As a EU student, you encouraged to find their own accommodation, you can however opt for Wittenborg’s own accommodation, if available.

Wittenborg offers accommodation in a number of different places, all close to the university: A. Shared apartments: 3-5 students share an apartment or house. B. Campus accommodation: students have their own room within a campus complex, and share kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Currently, students may stay a maximum of one calendar year at any of the accommodation(s) provided by Wittenborg, to assure rooms are made available for newly arriving students. Wittenborg is working hard to increase its own campus accommodation!

MBA graduates are often fast-tracked into senior management positions and this MBA programme has been designed for those who wish to pursue senior management positions or as preparation for further study in business, such as a DBA, or a PhD.
