Events Management’ is a multimillion euro industry and, in the case of large organizations, often forms part of a company’s marketing strategy. It is foreseen that the increased nature of global business will make the demand for events even higher. Though technology shrank the world, face-to-face meetings as a way of networking are still highly valued.

The Master in International Event Management provides students with means of developing high-level management skills and knowledge specific to the field of managing events and projects at all levels and in all industries.

This Master programme (MSc), is offered in partnership with the University of Brighton (UK), and requires an open, critical and inquiring mindset for the social-scientific and applied study of events and management.

The course structure of the MSc International Event Management programme at Wittenborg is in line with the programme offered at the University of Brighton, and the programme is taught by lecturers both from Wittenborg and from Brighton. Full-time students attend workshops on two days per week with the part-time route usually requiring one day per week.

Some modules may be delivered intensively over several consecutive days. Teaching methods include group work, case studies, presentations, and live projects. The course is delivered through a variety of approaches including lectures, presentations, tutorials and case studies, with an emphasis on interactive learning.

All courses and examinations will be in English, so you need a good command of spoken and written English.

As an international applicant, you will also be required to demonstrate sufficient results of one of these tests:

IELTS 6.5 overall, 6.0 in writing or:

TOEFL test (minimum score of 80 internet-based, and minimum sub score of 290 for speaking & Writing)

Cambridge Lower (FCE) Grade B (173-175)

Cambridge Lower (FCE) Grade C (169-172)

- Bachelor degree

- Students with non-relevant qualifications may be asked to complete a short portfolio prior to starting the course. 

- Other applicants with extensive industry experience will be considered on an individual basis.

As a EU student, you encouraged to find their own accommodation, you can however opt for Wittenborg’s own accommodation, if available.

Wittenborg offers accommodation in a number of different places, all close to the university: A. Shared apartments: 3-5 students share an apartment or house. B. Campus accommodation: students have their own room within a campus complex, and share kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Currently, students may stay a maximum of one calendar year at any of the accommodation(s) provided by Wittenborg, to assure rooms are made available for newly arriving students. Wittenborg is working hard to increase its own campus accommodation!

The Master of Science in International Event Management is aimed at a range of students and practitioners from different backgrounds. Although the MSc programme will be suited to business professionals from a broad range of business administration fields, in all sectors and branches, it has been specifically designed for those who wish to pursue senior management positions within the events industry, or as preparation for further study in the field, such as a PhD in the field of events, or in the hospitality management, tourism management or other service sector management areas.
