The programme is suitable for anyone who is working in education either in the Netherlands, or abroad. This program could also trigger a change from local education, to a teaching career at International schools around the world. It is also suitable for teachers and education staff already working in international education, or international streams at primary, secondary and higher level schools, colleges or even universities.

This MA course is under validation by the University of Brighton. As with other University of Brighton accredited Master programmes offered at Wittenborg, this degree will be delivered jointly by both institutes.

The programme and modules are responsive to individual circumstances, settings and situations and designed to complement and extend professional roles and commitments. The programme can be tailored to your interests and professional development needs, whether you are a recently qualified teacher looking to return to study, or a school mentor ready to explore your role in the context of our MA programme,  if you are interested in a curriculum subject or particular aspect of pedagogy (in the public or private sector), a middle-leader, keen to make improvements to your department, or a senior leader looking for a transformative learning experience.

Wittenborg naturally adds intercultural, international and diversity dimensions to this 2 year Master degree programme.

"You will learn to engage with Postgraduate Study, develop and explore critical perspectives on education, within their own personally chosen area. Action learning - You will conduct Professional Learning through Enquiry,and be led by experienced supervisors through the design and implementation of your Research Project."

All courses and examinations will be in English, so you need a good command of spoken and written English.

As an international applicant, you will also be required to demonstrate sufficient results of one of these tests:

Proven competence in written and spoken English at an appropriate level of fluency equal to IELTS 7.0 overall with 6.5 in writing and no less than 6.0 in all other components, or a comparable English language diploma. 

You need to be working in, or have regular access to, a relevant professional situation appropriate to an MA in Education research area.

The process includes a personal statement In this section, you should include details of your educational interests alongside your professional context experience which is an entry requirement for the programme. You should also demonstrate, through examples, your potential areas of interest and study. It is vital that this is written in an appropriate professional tone. Applications will only be considered if the personal statement is complete.

  

You are strongly encouraged to submit your application as early as possible to ensure that pre-course preparations can be made. For full-time applications please submit by 1 June. If your application is successful you will be invited to interview, which will provide an opportunity to further explore your rationale for study and to discuss elements of your personal statement. Interviews are held regularly throughout the year.

As a EU student, you encouraged to find their own accommodation, you can however opt for Wittenborg’s own accommodation, if available.

Wittenborg offers accommodation in a number of different places, all close to the university: A. Shared apartments: 3-5 students share an apartment or house. B. Campus accommodation: students have their own room within a campus complex, and share kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Currently, students may stay a maximum of one calendar year at any of the accommodation(s) provided by Wittenborg, to assure rooms are made available for newly arriving students. Wittenborg is working hard to increase its own campus accommodation!

Enhanced knowledge of educational issues and specialist areas of interest, are attractive to a wide range of employers and typical career moves after graduation from this master programme include: promotion to senior leadership teams, advisory roles or promotion into a different education sector, including those with capacity to influence policy.

The course also provides a springboard for further study at a doctoral level, either through PhD or EdD routes.
