During your first year of study you will already choose a specialization.
These specializations are:
- Supply Chain Management
You develop your abilities to assess processes. Special attention is given to logistical aspects such as customer relationship management, IT tooling, resources planning, operation management, control of good flows and warehouse management.
- Management & Entrepreneurships
Analyzing and creating processes that enable companies to start or to grow is at the heart of this specialization. You learn how to assess market opportunities and to set up a company.
- Marketing & Sales
You learn to use appropriate sales and negotiation techniques, to develop a growth strategy and conduct market surveys in order to assess market opportunities and competition.
- Business & Languages
Here you concentrate on multi-lingual business environments in which intercultural communication is the main tool for achieving business and management goals. You learn to deal with ever changing business settings in an international context by acquiring business knowledge and a high level of communicative skills, not only in English, but also in two other modern languages (French, Spanish, German or Dutch).
During the first two years of the International Business programme, you will, next to your specialization, follow courses such as Economics, Business Ethics, Marketing, Business Law, Sales, Finance and Accounting, Human Resource Management, Intercultural Awareness and Business English.
In the third year you choose a minor and an internship that match both your interests and your educational and professional objectives. You can spend this year abroad, with one semester at one of our partner universities and one semester of internship at a company, or organization.
You can follow a minor at Zeeland University of Applied Sciences, at another university in the Netherlands, or abroad. You are expected to follow at least one semester abroad for your minor, internship or graduation. There are no additional costs for this semester abroad and if you do a minor at one of our partner universities abroad, you can apply for an Erasmus - or Zeeland University of Applied Sciences Scholarship.
The first semester of the fourth year is dedicated to the completion of the knowledge and skills related to your field of specialization and to preparations for the graduation internship, which you will carry out in the last semester of your studies at Zeeland University of Applied Sciences.
Internship: You spend 25% of your studies working at a company and gaining practical experience: one semester in the third year and one semester in the fourth year. This gives you the opportunity to develop the practical skills that are the most valued in the professional field today.
